Walid MAHDI is currently a Professor of computer science at the Higher Institute of computer science and multimedia at the University of Sfax (HICSM-Sfax), Tunisia (www.isimsf.rnu.tn). He held the position of an Associate Professor (from 2014 to 2018) and Full Professor in College of Computers and Information Technology, Taif University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from 2018 to 2020. Walid MAHDI received his Ph.D degree in Computer Science in 2001, from Ecole Centrale of Lyon (France) and the M.S. degree in Computer Science from Paris-Sorbonne University (France) in 1996. He spent 3 years (2001-2004), as a R&D Engineer Scientist PhD, at Avivias SA Company specialized in Audio-Video Asset Administration Platforms for Media and Corporate Markets. After that, he joined the Sfax University (US)-Tunisa, HICSM, as an assistant Professor and he obtained in 2010 his Habilitation, the highest University Academic Qualification. During the last 10 years he has held many administrative positions including the head of Computer Engineering departement (HICSM-Sfax), the president of the Research and Professional Master's Commissions (HICSM -Sfax) and local expert at the European Investment Bank. He is also the head of the Multimedia, InfoRmation systems and Advanced Computing Laboratory (MIRACL) since January 2021. His main research interests include Computer Vision, Image and video analysis and Multimedia Applications.
